With its bustling harbour, world-class beaches, top-notch vineyards, and its mountainous surroundings brimming with diverse flora and fauna, Cape Town consistently captivates the hearts of all who visit.

After arrival at Capetown you will be transferred from the airport to Ellerman House where you will spend four nights absorbing one of the best ocean views in South Africa. Situated on the slopes of Lion’s Head, Ellerman House revolves around an appreciation of fine wine, art and lifestyle.

Overnight: Ellerman House
Ellerman House is the quintessential urban retreat for travellers wanting complete exclusivity and privacy in Cape Town. Located in Bantry Bay, it offers spectacular Atlantic Ocean views against the dramatic backdrop of Lion’s Head. Clifton’s beaches are within walking distance, while the best local attractions are 10 minutes by car. Originally a private residence, the historic Cape Edwardian-style mansion features 13 rooms and suites, two ultra-modern villas, the tranquil Ellerman House Spa, an extensive wine cellar and indigenous gardens. Modern cuisine that reflects the best of local and seasonal flavours, excellent wine pairings, generous-hearted hospitality and tailor-made excursions add up to a world-class guest experience that remains authentically South African.

Learn about the history and culture of this cosmopolitan city while on a guided tour of the city centre. Start the day ascending Table Mountain in the Cable Car where you will take in the sweeping views over the harbor and see some of the special plants that are unique to this mountain. Next visit city highlights such as District Six, a former inner city suburb which was the site of mass evictions under the apartheid regime. Explore the beautiful Company Gardens in the heart of the city before visiting the colorful suburb of the Bo-Kaap, the city’s historic Malay suburb characterized by its cobbled streets and brightly painted houses. The tour ends at the top of Signal Hill where you will witness a Cape Town tradition, the firing of the noon gun.

Set out on a tour of the renowned Cape Winelands and Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa. The journey will take you over Sir Lowry’s Pass so you can admire the spectacular view over False Bay. Stop off at several wine estates and take in the beautiful scenery. Sip on delicious Chardonnays, Pinotage and Merlot vintages that are among the best in the world. Many of these cellars still employ age old techniques to craft spectacular wines. Stroll around the oak lined streets of Stellenbosch admiring the Cape Dutch architecture and popping into some of the many interesting galleries and stores in town. This is a university town and there is a strong cage culture and youthful vibe. In the late afternoon you will return to Cape Town.

Today, you will depart on a full day tour of the scenic Cape Peninsula travelling along the coastal route past the twelve apostle mountain range to the town of Hout Bay and its picturesque harbor. Continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive to Noordhook and on to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve which is home to eland and bontebok. Take a walk to the lighthouse and admire the beautiful flora, fauna and sweeping views. Visit the naval town of Simonstown and the nearby colony of endangered African penguins at Boulders Beach. This colony is one of only a few in the world and it is a popular tourist attraction. The tour ends back in the heart of Cape Town.
